Area Boards bring decision making into the heart of our local communities. There are 18 Area Boards in Wiltshire, with each one holding delegated powers and devolved budgets to facilitate community action at a local level.

Residents and local organisations are actively encouraged to engage with their local Area Board.  Information about how to do this as well as further general information can be accessed on Wiltshire's Area Boards website.

Understanding the characteristics of our local populations is vital for informed community decision making. The Community Area Joint Strategic Needs Assessment provides detailed information about our local areas, grouped into ten themes, with an accompanying Census 2021 Area Board Population Profile that provides key Census indicators at Area Board geographies.
