Homelessness is not just a housing problem - it can be caused by a multitude of social, individual and economic factors. As a complex issue, it often occurs because of a combination of events, such as relationship breakdown, debt, adverse experiences in childhood, as well as ill health. The problem of homelessness is multi-faceted and therefore needs a multi-agency approach.
This paper aims to provide an overview and to improve the understanding of homelessness across Wiltshire. It takes a traditional epidemiological, corporate and comparative approach and aims to provide information and analysis to support Wiltshire Council and its wider partners to work towards the strategic aim of reducing homelessness.
